316-779-7700 ext. 344 Optima Bus Corporation Receives Award from Kansas Department of CommerceWichita, KS – Jun 23, 2006 – Optima Bus Corporation was awarded a Merit Award in the Manufacturing Category from the Kansas Department of Commerce for Optima's community service contribution to the Greater Wichita area. Optima was nominated by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County because of Optima's participation in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program at Valley Center Middle School in Valley Center, Kan. "Optima employees have made a strong commitment to community service," said Michael Monteferrante, Chief Executive Officer of Optima Bus Corporation. "Everyone at Optima is proud to have received this award, and we would like to thank the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County for nominating Optima Bus Corporation." In addition to the Big Brother Big Sisters, Optima also supports the Boys & Girls Club of Wichita, the Red Cross, the Special Olympics, and Wichita area police and fire departments. The Kansas Department of Commerce has dedicated June as Kansas Business Appreciation Month. Chambers of commerce, economic development representatives, and other organizations have an opportunity to nominate businesses that give back to the local and state economy. Optima Bus Corporation "transit tough" products - the revolutionary-designed Opus low-floor bus and nostalgic American Heritage Streetcar - have lived-up to their reputations with more than 180 Optima customers across the United States. For more information about Optima Bus Corporation, the Opus low-floor bus, or the American Heritage Streetcar, contact Melissa Noftsger at (316) 779-7700 or visit www.optimabus.com.
