316-779-7700 ext. 344 The Opus Joins the Hurricanes at the University of MiamiWichita, KS – November 21, 2005 – The futuristic-looking Opus is making its debut at the University of Miami "Hurry Canes" campus shuttle system. American Coach Lines, which is contracted by the University of Miami Parking and Transportation Department to operate buses, purchased six under-30' Opus buses to operate on the campus shuttle system. Optima Bus Corporation made the final delivery of the buses on November 16. The six Opuses will operate on both on- and off-campus routes and be available for charters. Bret Brittenum with American Coach Lines said that American Coach Lines decided to purchase the Opus because they were pleased with Optima's reputation, the level of support received from Optima, the curb-appeal of the Opus, and the easy maneuverability of the Opus. The Opus "Hurry Canes" shuttles overflow with curb-appeal and university spirit. They feature the University of Miami mascot -Sebastian the Ibus - on both sides of Opus spelling out "CANES." Optima Bus Corporation "transit tough" products - the revolutionary-designed Opus low-floor bus and nostalgic American Heritage Streetcar - have lived-up to their reputations with more than 175 Optima customers across the United States.
