316-779-7700 ext. 344 Optima Bus gets new ordersWichita, KS – January 7, 2005 – Optima Bus Corp. has received orders from the Des Moines Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Transit Authority of River City in Louisville, Ky. When delivered, Des Moines' order of six under 30-foot Opus buses will bring its fleet of low-floor buses to 10, while Louisville's order of five new American Heritage Streetcars will increase its fleet to 14, according to Steve Kratzer, marketing and business development representative for Optima Bus. Cost of the orders was not disclosed. Kratzer says the orders point out the importance of repeat business from customers. "Des Moines joins the growing family of high-profile transit organizations across America who have become repeat Optima customers," he says. Optima Bus, 1601 E. 77th St. North, has 140 employees and is in a tie with Plastic Fabrication Co. as the 35th largest area employer by the Wichita Business Journal's 2004 Book of Lists. Optima Bus makes the American Heritage Streetcar and Opus low-floor bus and has more than 150 customers nationwide. From the Wichita Business Journal
