316-779-7700 ext. 344 Annapolis Transit Takes Delivery of Three Opus BusesWichita, KS – February 10, 2006 – Optima Bus Corporation delivered three under 30' Opus buses to Annapolis Transit, the mass transit system of the City of Annapolis, located in Annapolis, Md. The buses will be officially unveiled on Monday, February, 13, to the City of Annapolis. "We were looking for a true heavy-duty low-floor transit vehicle that could withstand our demanding schedules and passenger load, yet still make for easy maneuverability within narrow, historic streets," said Danielle Matland, Director, Annapolis Department of Transportation. "We were impressed by the Opus' construction and design. Upon test driving, we were certain its features and ride would help us to meet our operational objectives." The three Opus buses will be operated on fixed routes that run throughout the city of Annapolis. Annapolis Transit has operated several Optima-manufactured vehicles throughout the years including the one American Heritage Streetcar, three Alamo City Streetcars, and eight RT-52s. "We have received excellent customer service from Optima, through both their parts and service departments, over the years and was encouraged that they would be among the suppliers that could meet our needs," said Matland. "We expect that our drivers and customers will be pleased with the new look and feel of the buses, and look forward to many years of service out of the Opus buses." Optima Bus Corporation "transit tough" products - the revolutionary-designed Opus low-floor bus and nostalgic American Heritage Streetcar - have lived-up to their reputations with more than 180 Optima customers across the United States.
