Optima sells 14 streetcars to San Antonio transit system

Wichita, KS – June 6, 2005 – Optima Bus Corp. officials announced Monday that VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, Texas, has purchased 14 new propane-powered American Heritage Streetcars.

The price for the 14 streetcars was $4.4 million. Deliveries will start Aug. 10 and continue until Sept. 5.

The new streetcars will allow VIA to replace 14 of its original Optima streetcars that began serving San Antonio almost 23 years ago. Optima Bus has more than 170 clients across the United States The company is based just north of Wichita.
