Optima seals deal for nine streetcars

Wichita, KS – March 22, 2005 – Louisville, Ky., and Topeka, Kan., have signed deals to buy nine more streetcars built by Optima Bus Corp.

Topeka has decided to buy four more American Heritage streetcars, bringing their fleet to seven. Louisville is buying five streetcars, giving them a total of 14. Terms of the deals were not released.

So far Optima has delivered five streetcars in 2005, with a goal of delivering 38. In 2004 the company delivered 27 streetcars.

Optima is located at 1601 E. 77th North, north of Wichita.
